SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) says that south-central Indiana has a slight risk for severe weather beginning Sunday evening through Monday.
The risk area includes Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, and Brown Counties. Several rounds of strong-to-severe storms are likely through Monday night.
Forecasters have an “increased confidence” in the potential for strong storms with large hail late Sunday afternoon and Monday. The hail stones could be as large as 1.5 inches. Up to two inches of rain is possible during the period.
NWS predicts the greatest threat is from 6 p.m. to midnight on Sunday and the early morning hours on Monday. Heavy rain is possible on Sunday and Monday with damaging winds and possible tornadoes Monday.
