SEYMOUR, Ind. – Jackson County authorities are investigating the discovery of a man’s body that was found in the woods near the White River west of Seymour on Thursday evening.
In a Friday afternoon media release, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded Thursday at around 7:10 p.m. after a report of someone locating a male’s body close to the Bell Ford Bridge.
The investigation into the man’s death continues and an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
The sheriff’s department says the man’s identity has been determined but is being withheld until his family has been contacted.
