INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Monday that the February unemployment rates for local counties in south-central Indiana all slightly increased compared to the previous month.
For Bartholomew County, the February rate was 3.7%, up from January’s 3.5%. The county reported 41,544 employed residents out of a 443,159-person labor force.
Johnson County’s February rate was 3.4%, compared to January’s 3.1%. Employed workers totaled 84,090 from a possible 87,084.
Jackson County recorded a 3.4% February unemployment rate, up from 3.1% last month. It reported 21,709 employed residents out of a possible 22,475.
The Jennings County rate for February was 4.7%, compared to 4.4% the previous month. There were 12,676 workers out of a possible 13,295.
Indiana state officials at DWD also announced that the overall Hoosier unemployment rate for February was 4.2%, increasing from 3.8% in January.
