COLUMBUS, Ind. – Get ready, Bartholomew County. The Exhibit Columbus 2025 Exhibition, Yes And, is now being built. Exhibit Columbus, a program of Landmark Columbus Foundation, opens to the public on the weekend of August 15-16.
It was named Exhibit Columbus so that a new generation of artists, architects, and designers could take their turn shaping and showcasing the Columbus design legacy. Thirteen new installation projects are now being constructed downtown, with a primary focus on 4th Street and the Avenue of the Architects, plus at The Crump and the Indiana University J. Irwin Miller Architecture Program.
Landmark Columbus Foundation says this is a rare opportunity to add new works to public spaces.
It comes as the City of Columbus releases its Downtown 2030 Plan. This study seeks to answer three key questions:
- How do we build a downtown where people want to be?
- How do we maximize the use of the spaces and places downtown?
- What gaps do we have downtown, and how do we address those gaps?
