COLUMBUS, Ind. -A semi-truck caught fire on I-65 southbound on Wednesday, May 14 at Mile Marker 64.5 between 350 south and IN 58, causing a multi-lane closure of I-65. At approx. 2:31 am, Columbus Fire crews and the Indiana Department of Emergency Management were called to respond to Semi-Tractor Trailer transporting paint catching fire.
As of 7:54 AM, only the leftmost lane remains open and the wreck is still causing a significant delay in traffic several hours later. Police and fire crews are currently in the process of removing the wreck and debris.
No injuries are reported at this time.
