COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus and the Columbus Police Department (CPD) have released important updates and safety information for the 2025 Columbus East/Columbus North High School Prom Parade this Saturday, May 3, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The parade is held before the main event at The Commons from 9 p.m. to midnight.
As the Prom Parade gets bigger and better each year, a few small updates to help everything run smoothly, especially for those with unique parade entries.
The 2025 Prom Parade begins at the Staging Lot at the corner of 3rd and Franklin Streets and moves west on 3rd to Washington Street and heads north. It continues to 7th Street and turns west to Jackson Street. The parade goes south on Jackson, ending at 3rd Street. To view the parade route, click here.
CPD and volunteers will be along the route to ensure safety. Unsafe behavior could result in being asked to leave the event.
Here is what is new for the 2025 Prom Parade:
- Staging and De-Staging Areas are now available before and after the parade route; if your entry isn’t road-ready (ex, if it arrives on a trailer), you can safely unload in the staging lot, join the parade, then reload in the de-staging lot at the end
- If your entry is a regular, street-legal car or truck, you can join the parade by staying in the right lane of 3rd Street; the center and left lanes stay open for regular traffic
- If you want to go through again, you can re-enter the parade after completing the route, but respect other entries; use the staging lot or re-enter via the right lane of 3rd Street
