NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to a 911 call Friday evening about an unconscious male inside a bathroom at Lumberjacks Bar and Grill.
Deputies knocked on the bathroom door but got no answer. They could see through a crack in the door that the man not moving so they forced entry.
When law enforcement entered the bathroom, the subject awoke and began speaking to officers. JCSO says illegal narcotics and a large knife were observed in plain view near the man, John Meisberger II, 28, of North Vernon. He was removed from the bathroom area and arrested.
During a search of Meisberger’s person a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, drug-related items, and a 9mm handgun was allegedly found. The suspect was transported to the Jennings County Jail where he was remanded on the following preliminary charges:
- Possession of Meth with a firearm (Level 5 Felony)
- Possession of Paraphernalia (C Misdemeanor)
- Possession of Marijuana (B Misdemeanor)
- Public Intoxication (B Misdemeanor)
