INDIANAPOLIS – With the next legislative session quickly approaching, Bartholomew County residents are encouraged to take their local lawmakers’ online surveys and offer feedback on important issues.
Hoosiers should visit their state representative’s webpage and click the “Take My Survey” button.
To complete online surveys, citizens must be district residents and submit it by the Dec. 31 deadline.
Constituents can check which House district they reside in by visiting the Indiana General Assembly’s website at iga.in.gov, clicking “Find Your Legislator” on the homepage and entering a home address.
You can also expect to receive or may have already received a copy of their state representative’s survey mailer in their mailbox.
The webpages of representatives that serve at least a portion of Bartholomew County include:
- State Rep. Ryan Lauer (R-Columbus), House District 59, in.gov/h59
- State Rep. Jennifer Meltzer (R-Shelbyville), House District 73, in.gov/h73
- State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour), House District 69, in.gov/h69
The 2025 legislative session begins Jan. 8 and must conclude by April 29. Hoosiers can follow session proceedings at iga.in.gov, where they can find information on proposed legislation and watch the live streams of committee hearings and sessions.
