COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Community Education Coalition’s Felicia Garr and her five teams of Black and Black Bi-Racial volunteer committee members are hosting the unveiling of its new logo at Columbus City Hall on November 21, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The new name, Umoja, means unity.
Garr and her volunteers have worked for two years to promote equality and close the achievement gap for Bartholomew County’s black and black-biracial youth. Progress is being made and now that they have some traction, they are announcing Umoja as their new community group name.
The logo unveiling event is free and open to the public. Refreshments are included along with some free swag for kids.
