EDINBURGH, Ind. – The Edinburgh Police Department (EPD) was notified Thursday about a 13-year-old male who had allegedly made threats at Edinburgh Middle School. As a result of this investigation, the juvenile was detained and transported to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center.
EPD Chief Doyne Little said, “Edinburgh Police work very closely with our schools to ensure that we provide safe schools and to keep our community and children safe. There is no further comment as this case investigation is still ongoing. There are no concerns for our community’s safety.”
He added, “Edinburgh Police and the Edinburgh Community School Corporation take any threats very seriously and the police will make arrests and forward charges to prosecutor’s office for all credible threats. If you see or hear something, please report it.”
