FRANKLIN, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has issued a High Wind Warning for Franklin, Whiteland, Greenwood, and most of central and south-central Indiana for Friday from noon to 11 p.m.
Hurricane Helene remnants are expected to produce northeast winds of 30-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines and widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
Precautionary measures suggested by NWS include remaining in the lower levels of your home and staying away from windows during the windstorm. You should also watch out for falling debris/tree limbs and use caution if you must drive.
