FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin College announced that it has welcomed the largest class of new students in its recent history. Over 350 new students arrived on the campus last week and moved in over the weekend. Classes begin Monday, August 26.
The Class of 2028 is among its most academically accomplished and geographically diverse ever.
“We are experiencing an extraordinary burst of institutional momentum, despite the demographic headwinds facing higher education,” said Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather. “This enrollment growth is a testament to an industrious and innovative faculty and staff who deliver a transformational student experience.”
Prather added, “The value and quality of a Franklin College education are resonating with prospective students and their families.”
Here are additional details about the class as currently known:
- Students come from 14 different states and internationally from 13 different countries
- Business, exercise science, biology, and psychology are their top choices as a major; math experienced the greatest increase in interest
- Most are interested in Greek life, study-away experiences, and athletics. Nearly 200 students will be in the college’s athletic programs
- 24 students are legacies, meaning they have relatives who graduated from Franklin College
