INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Monday that the June unemployment rates increased for south-central Indiana counties compared to May.
For Bartholomew County, the June rate was 3.9%, up from May’s 3.4%. The county reported 42,222 employed residents out of a 43,914-person labor force.
Johnson County’s June rate was 3.7%, an increase from the May number of 3.3%. Employed workers totaled 85,709 from a possible 88,979.
Jackson County recorded a 3.8% June unemployment rate, above the 3.4% rate it registered last month. The county reported 22,128 employed residents out of a 23,013-person labor force.
The Jennings County rate for June was 3.9%, compared to 3.6% in May. There were 13,286 workers out of a possible 13,828.
Indiana state officials at DWD also announced that the overall Hoosier unemployment rate for June was 3.8%, a slight increase from 3,7% in May.
