NORTH VERNON, Ind. – A two-vehicle accident on West U.S. 50 at County Road 700W on Thursday has claimed the life of a Hayden man.
The initial investigation by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office indicates that at just after 2 p.m., a van being driven by Jerry L. Bridges, 82, pulled off of C.R. 700W and onto Highway 50 where it was struck by a concrete truck driven by Travis Carroll of Lovett, Indiana.
Bridges was taken to Schneck Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries suffered in the collision.
The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing. U.S. 50 West was closed for about two hours for crash cleanup.
