NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to the area of Risen Savior Bible Church (East US 50), on Friday at around 2:45 a.m., about a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch after a verbal altercation between a male and female.
The woman informed dispatch that during the verbal argument, the man told her to exit the vehicle, at which time he drove off before crashing into the ditch near the parking lot.
The female told a deputy that the male had fled across an open field area behind the church. The officer initiated a foot pursuit. He caught and detained the suspect.
JCSO says the man was identified as Andrew Eli Saenz-Munoz, 21, of North Vernon.
He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw and jail clearance and then transported to the Jennings County Jail where he is being held on a $1,055 bond.
Eli Saenz-Munoz faces these preliminary charges:
- OWI Endangerment (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Auto Theft (Level 6 Felony)
- Criminal Recklessness (Class B Misdemeanor)
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident (Class B Misdemeanor)
- Operating without ever receiving (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor)
