COLUMBUS, Ind. – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Peer-to-Peer Education offers a free, eight-session class for adults grappling with mental health conditions, aiming to deepen their self-awareness and understanding of their journey toward recovery. The program begins on Tuesday, April 30, at 5:30 p.m., at the Recovery Cafe Columbus, 1412 Sycamore St.
Led by trained facilitators who have navigated similar experiences, this program incorporates a blend of activities, group discussions, and informative videos. However, in line with NAMI’s approach, it does not provide specific recommendations for treatment methods.
This initiative fosters a safe environment conducive to mutual support and personal growth. Participants find solace in the empathy of others who can relate to their experiences. It serves as a platform to delve into recovery within a non-judgmental setting.
