FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin Community Schools (FCS) recently announced Chloe Limbach as the next principal of Union Elementary School. The FCS Board of School Trustees approved the recommendation at its September 8 meeting. Limbach will officially begin her new role in January at the start of the second semester.
This school year marks Limbach’s 22nd year with Franklin Community Schools. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal, bringing a wealth of experience in leadership, literacy, and special education. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Franklin College and a master’s degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Limbach has spent the past several years as assistant principal at Creekside Elementary, where she has overseen the developmental preschool, special education programming, and led initiatives supporting both students and staff. Her extensive background in special education and literacy has equipped her with the tools to help students reach their highest potential while supporting teachers in their mission to create meaningful learning experiences.
“I am both excited and honored to join a school where history, heart, and community are embedded into the walls of Union Elementary,” said Limbach. “Together, we will build on the strong foundation that has already been established, celebrating what makes Union Elementary unique, honoring past and present traditions, empowering every child to succeed, and supporting one another as one team, one family.”
Superintendent Dr. David Clendening praised the appointment, saying, “Chloe is an exceptional leader who is deeply committed to our students and families. I am confident she will continue to move the school forward while honoring the rich traditions that make Union so special.”
Limbach will also continue as assistant principal at Creekside Elementary, where she will oversee special education programming. She succeeds Katie Smith, who will transition to the principal role at Franklin Cub Academy Preschool.
