COLUMBUS, Ind. – Legal Aid presents another Free Legal Walk-In Clinic this Tuesday, August 26, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., in Columbus.
The Legal Aid Clinic/Pro Bono Indiana Program utilizes local volunteer attorneys to offer free legal consultations to low-income individuals. The clinics offer legal advice and assistance to provide equal access to justice to those who might not be able to afford the counsel of an attorney.
Individuals participating in the Legal Aid Clinic can expect to receive a 10-minute in-person consultation on a civil matter on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no need to register in advance, but you must show up by 4:30 p.m.
Get free legal advice on civil legal matters, including adoptions, family law (child support modification, custody, divorce, parenting time), guardianships, landlord/tenant (evictions, habitability issues), powers of attorney, protective orders, simple wills, and small estates. Criminal law questions will not be answered.
Legal Aid serves low-income residents in Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Shelby, Decatur, and Brown Counties in Indiana.
