SEYMOUR, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Force Construction Company is scheduled to close State Road 11 (Walnut Street) just south of U.S. 50 on or after Monday, June 30, to complete a box culvert replacement project in Seymour.
The closure is between North Park Drive and South Park Drive on S.R. 11 near Gaiser Park. S.R. 11 is expected to reopen in mid-August. While this section of Walnut Street is shut down, motorists should use the official detour, which follows U.S. 50 to I-65 to State Road 250.
The project is part of a $1.3 million contract awarded in September 2024. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
Drivers should slow down, use caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
