NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc., is scheduled to close State Road 7 on or after Tuesday, June 3, to complete an intersection improvement project in Jennings County.
The closure on S.R. 7 is between County Road 275W and Country Squire Boulevard, about one mile northwest of U.S. 50. Motorists will not be able to access County Road 275W and Country Squire Boulevard from S.R. 7 while work is in progress.
S.R. 7 is expected to reopen in early August. Signage will be placed in the area before the start of construction. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route, which follows U.S. 50 to I-65 to State Road 46.
Additional contract work will take place on S.R. 7 following the closure. INDOT will provide more information and updates as work progresses. The overall project, part of a $5.7 million contract awarded in November 2022, is expected to be completed in late November, weather permitting.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
