COLUMBUS, Ind. – Investigators with the Indiana State Police-Crimes Against Children Section arrested a Columbus man on child molesting, child pornography, and other related charges this week.
Months earlier, Detective Robert Whyte received a tip that an individual was possibly in possession of child pornography. An investigation led to a potential suspect, who was identified as Andrew Case, 38, of Columbus.
On Tuesday, April 29, the Indiana State Police (ISP) and Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force members served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. During a search, investigators gained information that Case was allegedly involved in child molestation and the production of child pornography.
Andrew Case was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on charges of Child Molesting (Level 4 Felony), Production of Child Pornography (Level 4 Felony), Possession of Child Pornography (Level 5 Felony), and Sexual Misconduct with a Minor (Level 6 Felony).
The Bloomington Police Department, U.S. Secret Service, Columbus Police Department, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, and Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office assisted ISP in the investigation.
The Indiana ICAC Task Force is a multiagency task force that investigates and prosecutes persons who use the internet to exploit or entice children sexually. The Indiana State Police oversees the task force.
