JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced Thursday that it had awarded over $200 million in Community Crossings matching grants for local road and bridge projects across 245 Indiana cities, towns, and counties.
Franklin, New Whiteland, and Prince’s Lakes will receive nearly $3 million combined. Other area counties and cities will get over $5 million combined.
Communities submitted applications for funding in January. Community Crossings funding comes from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund. Community Those grants have provided over $2 billion for local road improvement projects since 2016.
Here are the local cities and counties that were awarded grants and the amounts received.
- Franklin – $1.5 million
- New Whiteland – $1.3 million
- Prince’s Lakes – $86,000
- Shelby County – $1.3 million
- Columbus – $1.5 million
- Bartholomew County $1.5 million
- Nashville – $314,000
- Brown County – $900,000
