FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin College will host a “Women and Girls in STEM,” an experience meant to inspire female middle/high school students and educators to explore science, technology, engineering, and math careers.
The free event is set for Wednesday, March 19, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in two locations within the College’s Napolitan Student Center: the Johnson Atrium on the first floor and the Branigin Room on the second floor. Parents are encouraged to attend the event with their children.
With women representing just 35% of the STEM workforce, Franklin College is using National Women’s History Month as an opportunity to inspire young women to explore careers in these fields.
Participants will have the chance to interact with academic leaders and professionals while engaging in hands-on activities across a variety of disciplines, including accounting, business, chemistry, computing, economics, exercise science, marketing, mathematics, medicine, and psychology.
It is open to all interested female students considering STEM as a potential career path or those wanting to explore STEM-related topics. Attendees who register in advance will also be entered to win a special prize. To sign up, go here.
