SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Fire Department (SFD) recently announced it recently received its MIcroCAFS Skid 60 unit. This compressed air foam device gives firefighters an advantage in emergenciy responses like alternative fuel fires, EV blazes, and chemical fires.
The department also bought two foam fire extinguishers, giving crews that same advantage on smaller-scale fires.
The purchases were possible thanks to contributions from the Seymour Redevelopment Commission, Freeman Municipal Airport, Enbridge, and Duke Energy.
SFD, with the help of the owners of MIcroCAFS USA, installed the unit and trained on it last week. It was placed in the 2017 Chevrolet 2500 HD 4×4 truck (Truck 1) at the recently updated Fire Station 1.
