FREETOWN, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor 5 Star Company, Inc. plans to close State Road 258 just east of State Road 58 on or after Tuesday, October 8, to complete a small structure replacement project in Jackson County.
The closure is approximately 2.5 miles east of Freetown and is expected to be complete by late November, weather permitting.
Crews will begin to place signage in the area before construction starts. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows State Road 135 to U.S. 50 to S.R. 258.
This project is part of a $1.1 million contract awarded in July 2023.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work schedules are subject to change.
