COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) has been staying occupied responding to several calls about fallen power lines and trees as a result of high winds the last two days.
Officials remind residents to be cautious outside of their homes. Stay away from downed power lines and report these to your energy utility provider.
With the remnants of Hurricane Helene creating adverse weather conditions, CFD says power outages are possible. Winds cause tree limbs to fall on lines and disrupt service.
Citizens should be prepared by having flashlights and a battery-powered weather radio handy and making sure mobile devices are fully charged.
