SEYMOUR, Ind. – Over the weekend, a situation was brought to the attention of Seymour High School staff, school resource officers, and officers and investigators with the Seymour Police Department (SPD) involving a rumor that raised concerns about school safety.
SPD detectives investigated the situation and concluded that the information was not credible.
Seymour Community Schools and the Seymour Police Department regard the safety and security of students and staff as paramount and reported that the matter was resolved very quickly.
In response, increased police presence was conducted on Monday at Seymour High School as a precautionary measure.
Schools around the state have recently faced unsubstantiated threats disrupting the education of students.
