COLUMBUS, Ind. – It is week three of the high school football season, and it is the time that teams start to get into conference play.
Columbus North will open Conference Indiana play against Southport on Friday night. The Bulldogs are 2-0 after their 42-0 win over Columbus East. Southport is winless and has won only two games in the past three seasons. Tom Rust and Jim St. John will broadcast the game at 6:40 p.m. on MOJO 102.9 and online.
Columbus East will try to get on the winning track with a Hoosier Hills game at home against Seymour. The Olympians are 0-2 and the Owls come into the game 1-1 after a 14-12 loss to Jeffersonville last week. Seymour defeated Greenwood in week one.
The Johnson County Game of the Week will be at Franklin this week, as the Grizzly Cubs host Perry Meridian (1-1). Franklin is 2-0 and ranked 14th in class 5A. Jason Newhouse and Steve Stuart will have the call at 6:45 p.m. on KORN County 100.3.
Jennings County is looking for its first win Friday night as the team hosts New Albany (1-1). The Panthers lost to Beech Grove 46-10 last week. Joe Ammerman and Mark Sorrels will have the call on Jennings County KORN beginning at 6:45 p.m. on 1460 AM or 97.7 FM. It can also be heard on the Jennings County KORN website.
