FRANKLIN, Ind. – The 19th Johnson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Charity Ride is Saturday, September 14.
Registration begins at 8:30 that morning at the motorcycle ride’s starting point, Grace Assembly of God Church in Whiteland, with kickstands up at 10 a.m. The Charity Ride ends at the Johnson County FFA Center in Trafalgar.
Sheriff Duane Burgess says, “As always, the ride will benefit local Johnson County charities based on needs within the community, including programs like the Boys and Girls Clubs of Johnson County, Girls Inc., United Way, Johnson County Senior Services, FOP Lodge 154, and many others. This year, we are adding Proctor Park as a supported group.”
The ride was created by Sheriff Terry McLaughlin (2003-2010) and continued by Sheriff Doug Cox (2011-2018). The tradition rolls on with Sheriff Burgess. This project is in memory of Trooper Aaron Smith and Deputy Tim Guyer.
