COLUMBUS, Ind. – On Thursday afternoon, July 18, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputies responded to an accident with injury near the intersection of N. US 31 and W. County Road 800N, between Taylorsville and Edinburgh.
Dispatch advised deputies that a male had been hit by a vehicle and had significant injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim had stopped to assist another motorist with their disabled vehicle. While trying to help the motorist, the Good Samaritan was struck and it resulted in fatal injuries.
The Bartholomew County Accident Reconstruction team is investigating the collision. No further information is to be released at this time. This is a developing story.
