Whiteland’s Comprehensive Plan is a community-wide strategic effort among town leadership, municipal departments, non-profits, local businesses, emergency services, utilities, and the broader community to guide future growth and development. Changes in population, the local economy, and the preferences of Whiteland residents have opened the door to new opportunities and challenges. This plan will identify and suggest potential strategies to address these uncertainties.
The plan will cover land use, utilities, transportation, economic development, government capacity, and other topics vital for sustainable growth throughout the community. Various existing conditions research and analysis will help lay the foundation for planning goals and action strategies that will be utilized by town leadership for land use and policy decision-making. However, the Town of Whiteland Comprehensive Plan is not solely meant for elected officials but is also intended to be a document referenced and supported by the entire community.
