NORTH VERNON, Ind. — State Road 3 in Jennings County closes as of Monday morning, May 6.
The areas of work will be:
- Pavement Replacement near the Sand Creek Bridge
- Pipe Replacement near 1300 South in Decatur County
- Pipe Replacement near 700 West
Traffic will not be able to cross the Sand Creek Bridge. If you live north of Sand Creek Bridge, use County Road 675N or County Road 800N to go south. If you live south of the Sand Creek Bridge, you can come through the staggered barricades at County Road 500N.
Once the pavement replacement has been completed, the staggered barricades will become a hard closure and you will access your homes as those who live north of the Sand Creek Bridge.
The first pipe to be replaced will be just south of County Road 1300S. When completed, the crew will move north to the pipe just north of County Road 700W.
Milling will start on Wednesday, May 15, just north of the Sand Creek bridge, and then moves north in the northbound lane.
HMA Patching occurs on or after May 20. The patching locations are yet to be determined.
