COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) welcomed back Officer Maren McCrary as Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon swore her in at City Hall on Tuesday.
Upon graduation from Eastern Illinois University, Officer McCrary worked as a police officer for the Muncie Police Department for several years. She was then hired by CPD and served with the department for almost seven years.
The first time McCrary served CPD, she was a patrol officer, detective, and polygraph examiner with the Criminal Investigations Division.
After she left CPD, Officer McCrary worked as a forensic interviewer at a child advocacy center.
