Jeremy Camp will need to be careful when dealing with his wife and daughters. All three have gotten involved in martial arts training and Adie Camp tweeted a picture of their two girls getting their blue belts this week.

Laura Story recently talk with the staff of Today’s Christian Woman. In an online article Laura said “I hate to appear that I’m needy, but I am a needy person because God created me that way.” She want on to say “I’m learning just to submit and honor his role as God in my life. A majority of problems in my life come from me trying to play a role I was never intended to play. Natalie Grant this week was part of a special night of freedom benefiting Abolition International, the organization she helped to found. Natalie says there are some incredibly exciting things ahead for the organization as they continue to work for the freedom of those trapped by slave trafficking in the United States and around the world. At the meeting this week Abolition International unveiled plans for their first model teaching home. The home will be designed to train how to provide world class restorative care.

The Gospel Music Association announced this week that Amy Grant and Kirk Franklin will host the 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards. The awards show will be back in Nashville this year. It will take place on Tuesday, October 15 at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. The show will be broadcast on Monday, October 21st at 8:00pm ET exclusively on the UP network.

Chris Tomlin is out with a new video talking about his upcoming DVD. The Burning Lights DVD is scheduled for release at the end of October. Hawk Nelson and Building 429 had a scare earlier this week. The bands were setting up for an outdoor concert in Oklahoma City when the area was hit by heavy rain and 80mph winds. They say the good news was that no one was hurt. But the members of both bands say their gear was drenched so the concert that evening had to be canceled. They said they’re hard at work now drying out and checking their equipment and they pray that it will be okay. Both bands are just days away from kicking off their United Tour with The Afters and Finding Favour.

In January Vota officially kicked off their campaign with Tiny Hands International. Their goal is to prevent approximately 3000 girls from being sold into slavery in Nepal. The group is using 100% of the proceeds from sales from their new album to raise $150,000 to support, build and staff five border stations in Nepal to intercept the girls from traffickers. Vota announced this week that they’ve nearly reached their goal, raising enough to fund four of the five border stations. And they’re asking for help in finishing the project. Copies of the Vota album, autographed CDs, and digital downloads are still available. The band members say they plan to travel to Nepal in the fall of 2014 and hope to make a video documentary of the five fully financed border stations at that point.

All this week Mercyme will be running an auction on ebay for a “MercyMe Experience.” It will include two tickets to the concert venue nearest where you live AND a block of time at a coffee shop beforehand to hang out, chat, and ask the guys from Mercyme some questions! Proceeds from this auction benefit Porter’s Call in Franklin, TN. Porter’s Call is a non-profit organization that has been offering free counsel, support, and encouragement to recording artists and their families for the past 13 years.

Mark Lee turned 40 earlier this year. And to commemorate the occasion, the guitarist for Third Day says he’s doing a series of posts highlighting valuable lessons he’s learned in his time on this planet. Mark says one of those lessons is that going for “quality time” with your kids is a bad idea. Jonny Diaz was playing the roll of a proud brother over the weekend. He was in Tallahassee, Florida for his brother’s induction in the Florida State University’s Hall of Fame. Matt Diaz, Jonny’s brother, now plays professional baseball for the Miami Marlins.

Kevin Max will be part of several special projects. The lead singer of Audio Adrenaline recently announced that his song One Way, One Blood will be part of an upcoming Joanne Cash Documentary. And his song Raggamuffin King, a song written about King David & his heart for God, will part of the Lion of War soundtrack.

Meredith Andrews was leading worship at a staff retreat over the weekend. She was part of the American Bible Society’s staff getaway in Long Branch, New Jersey.

Jars Of Clay braved the rain for a concert in Colorado Springs over the weekend. The members of the band tweeted that the show would go on but encouraged those planning to attend the event to follow local advisories. They say that, while the rain hadn’t caused any problems at the venue, several other areas around the town still were experiencing really bad flooding.

The members of The Sidewalk Prophets were given a private jet ride over the weekend due to flooding in the Denver area. The band flew into Denver for a concert in Casper, Wyoming. But flooded interstates were going to make it very difficult to make the trip by bus. So one of their fans allowed them to make the trip on his private jet, allowing the concert to go on as scheduled.

Josh Wilson recently had the chance to hang out with the Duck Dynasty crew in Texas. The Christian artist was featured in an episode of the program recorded over the weekend.

Pepsi has already featured several Christian artists on it’s products cans. Now they’ve announced plans to sell Winterjam branded cans during Christian music’s largest tour. Pepsi will sponsor the Winterjam tour, distributing more than 13 million Winterjam branded cans in a 13 state region and running a major regional radio campaign and comprehensive social media promotion.

They were looking for an English translation of the Russian Hymn “My Way As Others Not, Especially With Flowers!” Todd Smith said the group is working on music for a documentary based on Nik Ripken’s book Insanity Of God. And he said this song was sung every morning for 17yrs by a Russian believer while in prison. Todd said they want to include the music in the upcoming project.

Natalie Grants new CD Hurricane will be available nationwide on October 15. But the Christian artist says she was back in the studio over the weekend recording more music for the project. Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp and Hawk Nelson helped to bring the end to an icon over the weekend. Casting Crowns bass player Chris Huffman tweeted: Honored to be last band to have a concert on the Southern Star Amphitheater stage at Atlanta’s Six Flags park. Chris says he saw many of his favorite artists there over the years. The Amphitheater is being torn down to make room for more attractions.

The members of Casting Crowns were together this week for a photo shoot for their new record. And bass player Chris Huffman tweeted that he didn’t loose as much weight as he would have liked to before the photo shoot date. He’d tweeted earlier in the summer that he was dieting in hopes of loosing 20 pounds but he said his weakness for state fair corndogs proved to be his undoing. However, Chris says he’s going to continue on with the weight loose efforts even though the photo shoot is now past.

Bart Millard is giving his endorsement to the new CD from the members of the former David Crowder band, now known as The Digital Age. The new project came out this week and the lead singer of Mercyme says “I seriously thank God for this album”. Bart says it makes him want to be better at his craft.

Make Donehey was meeting with the label this week. And the lead singer of Tenth Avenue North tweeted after the meeting: The larger your “ministry,” the more you need to interact with people one on one. At least, that’s what Jesus seemed to do.

Tai Anderson says it’s time to take a leap of faith. The Third Day guitarist says he’s been dreaming about a Third Day Faith and Family Camp for two years. And he says he finally started doing some actual planning for the venture this week.

The unrest in Egypt is hitting especially close to home for Matt Maher. He tweeted this week that his cousin is one of the innocents caught in the middle of the conflict. Matt says his cousin was in Egypt to teach English and now can’t get out of the country.

The members of Sanctus Real were answering questions from their fans recently and one fan asked why there was a little guy dressed in tin foil on the cover of their 2002 CD Say It Loud. The band members replied that it had no deep spiritual significance. Instead, they said it’s there simply because sometimes it’s just good to laugh for no reason.

The members of Jars of Clay were taking advantage of a delay in their travel plans to accomplish another task this week. Members of the group were delayed at a local truck stop while a light on their trailer was repaired. They took the time to crack open a crate of their new Inland CDs and sign some copies of the new project. The new CD will officially be available on August 27.

Bethany Dillon is asking for your prayers. The daughter of the Christian singer had to be taken to the ER this week because of a really high fever and boils on her neck.

Mandisa was meeting with the publishing company Thomas Nelson this week to discuss a possible Overcomer book. Her new CD, also named Overcomer, will be out on August 27.

But Robbie tweeted that they’re already also working on details for Volumes 2 and 3 of the ongoing project.

The members of Kutless were a little to popular at a recent concert. A fan tweeted that the members of the band were surrounded by bugs on stage. They said the mosquitoes in Manitoba are very friendly.

Casting Crowns has made the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. The band was featured on the front of the August 4th edition of the magazine.

It’s been nearly 20 years since Darlene Zschech became a household name with the release of her song Shout to the Lord. And the Australian worship leader seems to be feeling her age. The news about for King and Country member Luke Smallbone is at least looking up. His brother and fellow group member Joel tweeted that Luke was encouraged after a few positive doctors visits. But he says prayers are still appreciated. Luke has been dealing with the illness for more than nine months and has had to even step away from some of the groups concert events.

Jason Roy is experiencing the difficulties of hit and miss training. The lead singer of Building 429 tweeted this week that he hadn’t been able to do his cross fit training for a month and, when he returned he “got killed.”. Jason added “I just don’t get it… Why can’t I just hop back in?

Jason Barton says the hostage crises in St. Joseph, Louisiana hit a little to close to home. The member of the group 33miles says his father was working just 100 yards away from where the hostage crisis took place this week. A disturbed gunman shot two hostages before being shot and killed by police. Jason says his father is safe and they are praying for the families of those who were involved in the hostage crises.

Congratulations to Third Day. Their Chronology videos Volume’s 1 and 2 were both certified recently as multi platinum. According the the RIAA certification organization, both volumes of the Chronology video have sold at least 200,000 copies.

Kerrie Roberts is starting work this week on her Christmas EP. The native of Florida was in Nashville this week and tweeted that she was enduring the 65 degree weather. But she says starting work on her Christmas project helped make enduring the cooler weather possible.

The deluxe edition of Matthew West’s Into the Light CD came out this week. The updated project includes the songs from the original Into the Light CD but also includes videos of the live performances of those songs along with the audio recorded by the fans who sent those letters to Matthew West.

Sara Groves is counting down to the release of her next CD, titled The Collection. She tweeted this week that the project will include 27 total songs on two CDs. It will have many Sara Groves favorites as well as four new songs.

Walt Disney World’s Night of Joy Christian Music Festival will return to the Magic Kingdom in Florida September 6 & 7. And this week the lineup for the two night event was released. Bands performing on September 6 include Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, MercyMe, Skillet, Audio Adrenaline, Mandisa, and For King and Country. And on September 7 you’ll be able to hear Francesca Battistelli, TobyMac, Newsboys, Matthew West, Group 1 Crew, Building 429, Jamie Grace, and Plumb.

Members of the Newsboys are covering a lot of miles. A recent 10 day stretch of concerts took them back and forth across the country several times followed by a couple concerts in Alaska. The members of the band tweeted that they covered 20,000 miles in the 10 day stretch.

The members of Colton Dixon’s band now have their own capos. The capos are used to change the pitch of a guitar and Colton tweeted that the Keyser organization presented him with a custom capo made earlier this month. Now Colton says he just needs to learn how to play the guitar.

Three members of Kutless are finishing their degrees. Nick Departee tweeted this week that fellow band members James Mead and Jon Micah Sumrall are joining him in taking classes at Grand Canyon University.

Congratulations to the lead singer of the Robbie Seay Band. Robbie tweeted this week that Tuesday was adoption day for their five year old daughter Kay. He says they headed to the courthouse and made the adoption official. Cloverton started fulfilling their commitment over the weekend. They did their first concert for contributors to their kickstarter campaign. Earlier this year the guys in the band asked their fans to help them fund their next CD through the kickstarter web site. They had hoped to raise $20,000 but instead had more than $45,000 come in. The new CD is scheduled to release next month.

The guys from Mercyme were playing after a Cincinnati Red’s game over the weekend. And the team let band members Mike Scheuchzer’s son Ben throw out the first pitch. Mike says it was an awesome day for his son.

The guys from Hawk Nelson are clearing up a little confusion. One of their fans told them over the weekend: I seriously thought the band Hawk Nelson had a member named Hawk Nelson! However, they confirmed that they in fact don’t have anyone by that name in the band. The name was actually made up when former lead singer Jason Dunn was in his early teens. He said he originally created it as a gaming screen name for one of the video games he liked to play.

Mandisa has been talking allot about the first release from her new CD called Overcomer. Be on the lookout for new music from Colton Dixon. The new Christian artist was opening for Mercyme recently and says he wrote a song while Mercyme lead singer Bart Millard was preaching. He says he guess’ that means he’ll have to give Bart a cut of the profits when he records the song.

Tobymac was recently asked on twitter: do you pack enough Nikes to color coordinate every outfit on tour? To which Tobymac replied Sure do. He said he loves those Nikes.

Matthew West was at the Indianapolis State Fair over the weekend and says one girl at his concert brought in a funnel cake. So he invited her to join him on stage and they enjoyed it together while the crowd cheered. Matthew says only at a state fair.

The Tenth Avenue North Classic gets underway today in Raleigh, North Carolina. The celebrity golf tournament was formed to help support Christ centered ministries like the College Golf Fellowship and Compassion International. Aaron Shust, The Afters and Mercyme had a scare over the weekend. A 70mph wind gust hit the out door stage at their venue on Saturday, causing the stage to collapse during The Afters sound check. The good news was that no one was hurt in the collapse. The bad news is that much of their equipment was on stage when the stage came down. No word yet on how much damage there was to their equipment. Officials say the stage was deemed unsafe so the concert scheduled for that evening had to be canceled. The band Kutless played at the San Francisco Giants Faith Day over the weekend. And following the concert Kutless member Nick Departee tweeted: I will always be an Angel fan.
