 Jimmy Needham is continuing to raise money for his latest CD. With 10
days to go, Jimmy is less then $5,000 away from his goal of $40,000. The
 funds will be used by Jimmy to make a CD named Make the Gospel Rhyme.

 Casting Crowns recently sat down with Billboard magazine to talk about
the band, their latest release called Thrive, and why they do what they
    do. But interviewers for the secular organization also expressed
  fascination about the band member's desire to continue as youth and
  worship pastors in their local church in spite of their success as a

  Shane and Shane's Worship Initiative kickstarter project is off to a
  fantastic start. Just a week into the month long fund raising effort
more than 60 percent of the goal has already been raised. At last report
 the amount raised was over $61,000. That leaves the two Shanes 23 days
to raise the rest of the $100,000 goal. Shane and Shane plan to use the
   money to create an online site that will empower musicians to lead
  worship. They say that, in anticipation of the new project, they've

 Mikeschair lead singer Mike Grayson is having a hard time dealing with
 life after vacation. He was greeted by icy conditions when he arrived
 back in Nashville from a vacation at the ocean. Mike tweeted: Nothing
 like coming home from the beach and having to use an ice scraper to be
            able to drive home. He added: I want to go back!

Matthew West was cheering on the students at the Cherry Hills Christian
 School in Denver. He tweeted: Love that Cherry Hills Christian School
 had a Do Something day with their students last week. Matthew said the
  kids knit caps for cancer patients and assembled food packs for the
 homeless population in Denver. He added: This is what it's all about!

  the Sidewalk Prophets are down to the final 9 days of their Mission
Transmission fundraiser. The band is hoping to raise the $17,000 needed
to replace the broken transmission in Bubba, their tour bus. But so far

Mandisa was making lemonade out of lemons this week. She said her flight
  from the Los Angelas airport was delayed. But Mandisa went on to add
  that the extra time gave her the opportunity to get a massage at the

   Newsboys drummer Duncan Phillips celebrated a birthday this week,
 prompting the record company Capital CMG to tweet: We dare you to eat
 cake on your spinning drum. No word on if Duncan will take them up on
                             the challenge.

    A Third Day concert forced Tai Anderson to miss out on his sons
wrestling matches at the Georgia state championships this past weekend.
But it didn't stop him from keeping up to date on the action via social
 media. Tai put on his proud father hat, sharing via facebook that his
son Kai took the Georgia state championship in the 6 and under 60 pound
 division. Cole placed second in the 170 pound 14 and under division. 

   Natalie Grant is the narrator for a gripping new documentary film
   telling the story of millions of women in India who are culturally
 persecuted for no other reason than the fact that they are women. The
documentary is titled Veil of Tears and is presented by Gospel for Asia.
It will be available in theaters on March 28. In the mean time, you can

 Jeremy Camp received some good news at the doctors office on Tuesday.
 Monday night he tweeted a picture of his badly swollen ankle and added
 that he thought it might be broken. However the doctor on Tuesday said
  that it instead was a severe ankle sprain. While Jeremy said it will

Building 429 was recently playing in the rain. While their crew covered
 the equipment in the background, the members of the band continued on
 with a acoustic performance. The band tweeted: The crowd stayed, so we

 Matthew West's Hello My Name Is Acoustic Tour kicks off this weekend.
 But Matthew says two of the shows have already sold out. The acoustic
tour will run for one month, wrapping up in Montana at the end of April.

Building 429's We Won't Be Shaken Tour is off to a good start. The band
tweeted this week that first two weekends of the tour with Family Force
  5 and Hawk Nelson were sell outs. The tour is scheduled to continue
                            through May 10.

Audio Adrenaline is gearing up for their spring tour. Kevin Max tweeted
            that dress rehearsals are commencing this week.

Third Day this week announced plans for their first ever Faith & Family
 Camp. The camp will be held at Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Georgia.
Third Day guitarist Tai Anderson says campers will experience an entire
weekend of THIRD DAY led activities all geared to strengthen and support

 Brandon Heath was recently preparing for summer. He was in California
     for the Hits Deep Tour and spent some time getting his Triumph
              Bonneville T-100 motorcycle into top shape.

A recent study looked at the preferences of a quarter million listeners
nation wide to come up with the favor song in each state. And Christian
band Hillsong United is the top band in at least one state. The worship
    band was listed in the study as South Carolina's favorite band. 

Natalie Grant is keeping busy as she struggles to keep up with both her
latest tour and her new acting career. She said she arrived at her hotel
 Monday morning at 2:25am after a weekend of Dare to Be concert events.
  But Natalie said she set alarm for 3:45am so she could make her next
plane flight. She was headed out to film the next episode of her reality
               show It Takes A Church on the GSN Network.

   Sidewalk Prophets Ben McDonald is taking to social media after his
guitar was broken during a United Airlines flight from Aspen to Denver.
He said he'd filed an online claim and also called customer service but
nothing was done. So Ben took to twitter and, within a couple hours, he
had heard multiple similar stories from his fans and also got a response
               from United promising to review his case. 

 for King and Country's debut album, CRAVE turned two over the weekend.
 And in celebration of the 104 weeks since it's release the members of
the band announced that they'll be giving away 104 autographed copies of

Mike Scheuchzer is dealing with a flooded basement...again. The Mercyme
guitarist recently moved from Texas to Nashville. And he tweeted Monday
   morning that they'd woken up to their third flooded basement since
                              moving in. 

The ice was making travel difficult again over the weekend. Tenth Avenue
   North's Mike Donehey tweeted a picture of their ice coverage bus,
nicknamed the Bus-cicle. And Newsboys drummer Duncan Phillips tweeted a
 picture of the ice and snow covered roads their bus was traveling on.
 Meanwhile, Big Daddy Weave, Third Day and Skillet all canceled concert
  events over the week. It's been a rough winter for traveling bands.
  Numerous shows have been canceled and stories of slick roads abound.
               Band members say prayers are appreciated.

  Jamie Grace will be headlining the Minnesota Timberwolves Faith and
     Family day on March 23rd. She'll have a free concert after the

The Sidewalk Prophets continue to ask for your help as they seek to cover the cost of replacing the transmission in their touring bus. With 12 days to go, the band’s Mission Transmission has raised nearly 77-hundred dollars. The Ragamuffin film, based on the life and legacy of Christian music singer and songwriter Rich Mullins, is set to premiere in select theaters on May 2. The Film will release in 15 cities around the nation.

Many Christian artists participated in the End It movements effort to shine the light on the 27-million people world wide still in slavery by marking a red x on their hand. But Natalie Grant says that, although incredible awareness happened during the promotion on February 27, the job isn’t finished. She tweeted after the event “now let’s ACT”. The members of Jars of Clay are asking you to join them in providing clean water wells in Africa. Blood:Water mission, the organization Jars of Clay helped found, is encouraging the formation of teams to raise money by giving up your favorite drink and donating the proceeds. And Jars of Clay announced over the weekend that a donor has offered to donate $25,000 if 1,000 people participate in effort. They say that’s a lot of clean water for our friends in Zambia. Audio Adrenaline lead singer Kevin Max says good things are coming. He tweeted over the weekend: I am as excited about the future of Christian Music as I was back in the ‘Jesus Freak’ days. Kevin added: “I feel a change is coming and I pray it happens”.

Mandisa introduced the Word Warriors scripture for March over the weekend. She announced that the next passage to memorize is Romans 5:7&8. Tobymac says he and Albert Pujols have some things in common. He tweeted that he got to hang out with the baseball star at a concert stop over the weekend, adding that they both “loves God and golf so we got along.”

Third Day received a special honor over the weekend. They were given a plaque commemorating the certification of both of their Chronology albums as platinum. The platinum certification signifies that both albums have sold more than 1-million copies.

Hillsong United found a unique way to introduce fans to their latest project. The CD is called The White Album so the members of the band broadcast live from a White Room for 24 hours. The 24 hour broadcast included everything from a live performance of some of the songs to ping pong games, all while the new album was streamed in the background. But the thing mentioned most in the comments was when the D at the end of United fell off the wall during the broadcast.

Selah and Mark Schultz have announced plans for a co-headlined tour later this month. The You Amaze Us Tour is named after Selah’s upcoming studio album, scheduled to release on August 19. The tour will run from mid March through mid April. Selah will introduce songs from their first new recording in three years and Mark Schultz will share selections from his upcoming Hymns album.

7eventh Time Down has announced plans for a new tour. They’ll be joining the Newboys for both their spring and fall We Believe tours.

Avalon say they will finally be coming to Brazil. The band says they have had numerous requests for a tour in that country. And Avalon says it’s now official. They’ll be traveling to Brazil in June of this year.

Jamie Grace recorded a video over the weekend apologizing to her fans for not coming out and visiting after her shows. She announced that she’s been having voice problems so has been instructed not to talk any more than necessary when she’s not on stage. She added: Hopefully my voice will come back soon.

Chris Tomlin tweeted today: There are 1.2 billion people in India—Jesus knows every name, hope & dream. He added that they are praying for the people of India and looking forward to being with them soon—along with the United Arab Emirates and Singapore. The stops will each be part of this years Passion Global Tour.

It sounds like Christy Nockels trip to the UK has been interesting. She tweeted: this kind of says it all folks…it’s been this kind of week. Attached was a picture of her husband Nathan facing worship leader Matt Redman. A United States flag was draped over Nathan while Matt was wearing a flag of the United Kingdom. Christy is touring the UK with Matt as part of the Big Church Day Out Tour.

The weather caused problems with several tours over the weekend. A winter storm forced Big Daddy Weave to cancel their The Only Name Tour stop in Pennsylvania on Sunday. And Third Day and Skillet postponed their Sunday stop in Missouri. The concert has been rescheduled for later in March.

Brandon Heath and Mandisa are keeping very busy. They both finished up their swing through California with the Hits Deep Tour over the weekend. And this coming weekend they’ll be joining up with Third Day and Skillet tour in Chicago and will tour with those bands through early April. Then Brandon and Mandisa will be continuing on with their Brandisa tour through early May.

Laura Story was experiencing the joys of parenting over the weekend. She tweeted: Wondering why we brought all these toys in tour when Jo’s been playing with this piece of used tape for an hour.

While the rest of the guys in the band Sidewalk Prophets were enjoying some down time in Aspen, Colorado, group guitarist Ben McDonald is taking the time to hone his mountain climbing skills. He recently tweeted a picture standing on the side of a mountain after climbing 2,500 feet in 50 minutes. Ben is training to climb Mount Rainer this summer.

Brandon Heath and Jars of Clay are inviting you to join them in giving up your favorite drink to help raise money for clean water wells in Africa. A Kickstart project by the Texas based Christian band Shane and Shane is off to a good start. Fans of the group have raiesd more than $15,000 in the first two days of the project. The Shane’s are hoping to raise $100,000 in 30 days to start The Worship Initiative. According to a recent article, the goal of the new online site is to revolutionize the way Christian worship music is made and “empower musicians to lead.” If funded the site will help singers, songwriters and performers hone in on their skills and refine their craft. Third Day lead singer Mac Powell is back on twitter after a seveal day sabbatical. Mac tweeted this week that he has been at home since February 21 and stepped away from twitter while he was there. Jason Gray was talking this week about the inspiration behind his latest song, “With Every Act of Love”. The song is the lead single from Jason’s new CD, Love Will Have The Final Word, that comes out this coming Tuesday. The movie Son of God, based on the life of Christ, is in theaters this weekend. And Hillsong United’s song Oceans is on the movie sound track. The group says it’s a new version of the song recorded just for the sound track. There are a total of 12 tracks on the project. In addition to Hillsong United, for King and Country, The Sidewalk Prophets, Big Daddy Weave, and Chris August are all also on the Sound track CD.

Matthew West was in Suprise Arizon this week and tweeted: Having a blast at the Kansas City Royals first spring training game of the season. The Royals lost the game to the Texas Rangers 11 to 7.

Tenth Avenue North recently talked about the song they included on the latest WOW Worship CD. 7eventh Time down recently kicked off their first ever headlining tour. And they’re off to a good start, selling out the first stop on the tour. More than 700 people turned out to enjoy the concert.

When in the United Kingdom it’s appropriate that your touring bus is a “Double Decker”. Christy Nockels is in the country touring with Matt Redman. And tweeted a picture of the bus with 15 bunks upstairs and a lounge downstairs

Kutless, Audio Adrenaline, and the band Finding Favour will be partnering with Food for the Hungry for the Change A Life Tour this spring. It kicks off March the 8th and will continue through mid May.

Mandisa was back in her home town of Sacrimento this week for a concert stop with the Hits Deep tour. And she made the most of her stop. She said she was able to get together with her high school choir director and also spent some time hanging out with old friends. But Mandisa says she also was able to wake up at 11:30 one morning. Mandisa THAT’S my definition of a Good Morning.

The members of MIKESCHAIR say the game Ticket to Ride Europe has taken over their van rides. The board game takes players on a train adventure through the great cities of turn-of-the-century Europe. And long distances on tour give them plenty of time to play.

Jamie Grace is breaking new ground. She is now officially not just a solo artist. Jamie had her first concert with her band, known as The Boys, Thursday night.

Many Christian artists are standing with the End It campaign and they are encouraging you to do the same. Today is the 27th of February and The End It Movement is asking you to use this 27th day of the month to shine a light on the 27 million people world wide who are still enslaved. Shane and Shane this week launched their new kickstarter effort. The two Shanes are hoping to raise $100,000 over the next 30 days to start a new online resource called The Worship Initiative. They say the online center will be designed for teaching worship leaders about God’s word, providing them with instructional videos for a wide variety of popular worship songs, and also helping them learn more about the song writing process. The members of Kutless say they have had an overwhelming response from their fans. Mandisa is reminding the Word Warriors to wrap up their memorization of the February scripture Psalm 30:11&12. She’s also asking those taking part in the monthly scripture memorization plan to make and submit scripture images of the passage and what it means to them. Mandisa formed the group in early January to join her in memorizing one passage of scripture each month throughout 2014.

Worship leader Darlene Zschech is keeping a positive spirit even as she looses her hair. She tweeted a picture this week of her granddaughter modeling some of the wigs a friend had purchased for her to try out. Darlene is in the midst of chemo treatments as she deals with breast cancer.

The band Blue Tree recently had a unique experience. They were given the chance to use an F-18 training simulator and also sit in one of the jets while on their latest concert tour.

Tenth Avenue North’s Mike Donehey is working on his trajectory. He recently tweeted that trajectory is defined as a chosen course. And he added that he’s been adjusting his personal trajectory by clicking on his Bible app before he clicks on his social media app.

The UK’s Big Church Day Out event kicked off this week. 1,000’s of people braved a cold evening to worship Jesus with Matt Redman, Beth Redman, and Christy Nockels. The goal of the Big Church Day Out is to gather the church together in celebration with music, prayer, fun and just being together.

Mercyme will be giving a free post game concert after the Milwaukee Bucks game against Washington on March 8. The event is part of the Bucks Faith and Family Night.

Paul Baloche was in China this week for a worship event in that country. But Paul said one of the profound events of the stop was joining a girl named Hannah in walking around the grounds of a square where she was left by her birth parents two decades earlier. Hannah was adopted at age 7 and grew up in Paul’s neighborhood. Paul was able to join her in celebrating her 21st birthday in the square where she had been left 21 years earlier.

The members of Jars of Clay took part in their second 20th anniversary online concert this week. They played songs from their Much Afraid CD during the online broadcast on the Stage It web site. Jars members say they’re already starting to gear up for concert number three in a few weeks. The focus in March will be If I Left The Zoo.

Some tour weekends are harder than others. And Third Day’s Tai Anderson say being gone this weekend will be one of the especially tough ones. While he’s on stage with Third Day he’ll be missing out on watching his children at an area cheer camp, the state wrestling championships, and a school play.

Sidewalk Prophets guitarist Ben McDonald will be in Aspen, Colorado this week but it’s not for a concert or some relaxation. Ben is in town for some mountain climbing training. He is planning to climb Mount Rainier in Washington State this summer.

Several Christian artists were taking cover recently as the tornado sirens went off in Nashville. Kerrie Roberts and Jamie Jamgochian were in the middle of an online concert when the sirens went off. They tweeted that the concert was on hold and six people were jammed in the studios bathroom. Meanwhile, Josh from The Afters said they had to stop their show in mid song when the sirens sounded.

A bit of trivia about the band Citizen Way. They went by the name Club 3 Degrees before changing to their current name.

Bubba the bus is still out of commission. Members of the Sidewalk Prophets tweeted over the weekend that they have now been told that it will be at least Tuesday before the bus will be ready. The band is using a rented bus until the repairs can be made. Bubba has been in the shop for more than a month. Meanwhile, the Sidewalk Prophets say their Mission Transmission fundraising campaign is making progress. Nearly $5,000 of the $17,000 needed to repair transmission has been raised.

Natalie Grant is encouraging you to join her in shining the light on slavery and slave trafficking in America. The Christian artist who helped found Abolition International is encouraging everyone to draw a red x on your hand on February 27. The band Skillet was the big winner in New Release Tuesday’s second-annual We Love Christian Music Awards. The band won five awards, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year and the 2013 Fan Impact Award. The Awards show recognized artists in 24 categories. MIKESCHAIR recently announced the release date for their new full length album “All or Nothing”. It is scheduled to come out April 1, also the date commonly known as April fools day. Tobymac recently set an attendance record for a concert at Atmosphere Entertainment Sports Center. The General Manager of the center announced that the Tobymac concert was sold out, boasting more attendees then any other concert ever held at the location. Worship leader Matt Redman will be back in Dublin, Ireland in May. And he said his stops in the city are always special. Matt explained that it was in Dublin where his wife Beth Redman accepted his marriage proposal.

Chris Huffman says his favorite song from the new Casting Crowns record Thrive is the song Just Be Held. The bass player for the band tweeted that the record was done before his infant son Silas got sick and it has become his song. Silas had a heart transplant late in 2013.

Tobymac says he has taken an unconventional approach to Christian Music. In an article on the Christian music web site Toby McKeehan said ‘I think I define worship more loosely than most do’. He added that he has embraced all different styles of music on his records, including rock, hip-hop, rap, pop, funk, and R&B. His most recent album, 2012’s Eye on It is heavily dance music focused.

Remaining 33miles member Jason Barton wrote an open letter to his Family and Friends this week addressing the decision by Chris Lockwood to retire from the group. Jason said: Chris’ exit may leave many of you wondering what’s to become of 33Miles. That’s an excellent question. One of which I don’t necessarily have the answer for today. I have EVERY intention of continuing to do shows and write and record new music for 33Miles but in what capacity I just don’t know yet. Jason wrapped up the open letter by stating: I don’t really know what tomorrow holds but this is what I do know: GOD IS IN CONTROL. I rest in the knowledge that He has gone before me and stands beside me. I just have to trust Him and that’s what I am doing.

The Sidewalk Prophets continue to move forward in their Mission Transmission campaign. The members of the band announced this week that, with 21 days left in the campaign, They’ve gone over 33-hundred-dollars. Worship leader Matt Redman recently sat down to talk with Today’s Christian Woman. He shared that there are three themes he hopes will shine through his latest project Your Grace Finds Me. They include Grace, the Uniqueness of Christ, and battle and blessing, two dynamics we often experience at the same time. Matt also talked about meeting and communing with God. He said his favorite thing to do is to get out into nature, whether that be staring into a starry night sky or walking through a field or by the ocean.

Phil Wickham will be making stops as a series of churches and Universities from coast to coast over the next five weeks. He’ll make stop at churches from Maine to California with concerts at Lee University in Tennessee and Regents University in Virginia mixed in.

Five Liberty University Grads were back at the school for a homecoming of sorts this week. All five, including Meredith Andrews, are part of the Vertical Church Band. They were back at Liberty to lead worship and teach worship classes.

Jason Gray announced this week that he’ll be part of The Bible: Son of God 2014 Tour that launches March 20th at Saddleback Church in California. The 16-city tour will also feature Natalie Grant, Francesca Battistelli, Sidewalk Prophets, Chris August and Meredith Andrews. The concert will bring the epic miniseries, “The Bible,” and the upcoming film, “Son of God,” to life on stage. It will contain video and visual effects to enhance the experience.

Steve Curtis Chapman gave what is being called a career defining performance recently at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The concert in one of the most famous venues in the world included the True North Symphony Orchestra and The New American Chorus, made up of singers and fans from across the country. Matthew West is going back to the basics. In a news release this week he said he started out as just a guy and a guitar in a Barnes & Noble bookstore, playing for free coffee and tips. So Matthew this week officially announced plans for Hello My Name Is…The Acoustic Tour. It will take place in March and April and Matthew says I can’t wait to spend an evening with the audience telling powerful, true stories, and singing the songs that were inspired by them.”

Jamie Grace has a new plan for staying under the radar while out in public. She tweeted a picture of a hoodie made by her mom. On the front it says “People always say I look like Jamie Grace”.

Natalie Grant was sporting a new T-Shirt given to her by one of her friends. She proudly displayed the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Championship T-Shirt in a picture attached to her post.

The Newsboys had some fun during their recent stop at CBN News headquarters. In addition to recording interviews and singing some live songs the members of the band also helped surprise the organizations managing editor on his birthday. The CBN staff tweeted: We’ve not had that much fun as a department in months.

The Sidewalk Prophets are 10 percent of the way to their Mission Transmission goal. The band is trying to raise at least $17,000 to cover repair costs on their touring bus. And the members of the band say they’ve now nearly reached $1,700. The Sidewalk Prophets are using a rented bus while waiting for Bubba to be repaired. The major project during this years Passion conferences in Houston and Atlanta was to provide Bibles for the people of Iran. The daughters of Jeremy and Adie Camp got hair cuts for a good cause this week. Adie tweeted that the couples daughters had been growing their hair out so that it could be donated. This week they’re sporting a much shorter look after donating more than 20 inches of hair combined.

Congratulations to Rebecca St. James. She gave birth to a baby girl just after midnight Tuesday morning. Family members say both Rebecca and her new daughter are doing well.

Rehearsals are under way for Building 429’s We Wont Be Shaken Tour. The tour will begin in Pennsylvania on February 21 and continue through mid May. Family Force 5 and Hawk Nelson will join Building 429 on the tour.

10,000 people joined Paul Baloche in worship during his stop in India this week. Paul also spent some time meeting with and training worship teams in the country. And he visited the church in India that tradition says is the burial place of the disciple Thomas. Paul Baloche’s worldwide tour is taking the worship leader through some unique countries, including Malaysia and the United Arab Emeritus.

The band 7eventh Time Down will be part of the Iowa Energy’s Faith and Family Night on March 9. Iowa Energy is part of the NBA Development League.

Big Daddy Weave will kick off their The Only Name Tour on February 21 in Wisconsin. And they say response has been good. In fact, band members say two of the shows have already sold out. Big Daddy Weave’s tour will cover much of the country, even including stops in Hawaii. It will wrap up in early May.
