Comedian Bob Smiley was angling for a little leftover candy this weekend. He invited everyone to a free Sunday show in North Carolina and he asked everyone to bring along their leftover candy. Bob said anyone with Butter Fingers would automatically get a front row seat

Boys will be boys. The two sets of brothers that make up Citizenway had some fun during their concert Halloween night. They wore Mario Brothers costumes throughout their entire concert.

It was snowing in Nashville over the weekend. Love and the Outcome was gearing up for their Christmas tour, complete with snow. Or at least lights that look like snow.

The members of the West Coast Winter Jam tour were meeting over the weekend. Concerts begin on Thursday. Artist part of the West Coast leg of Winterjam include Hillsong United, Jeremy Camp, Francesca Battistelli, Colton Dixon, and many more.

Worship leader Paul Baloche was having a little fun over the weekend. During a worship conference someone yelled freebird, a song made famous by the band U2. To everyone’s surprise Paul Baloche took them up on the challenge, transitioning into a live performance song on stage. After the show Paul Baloche tweeted: tonight was too much fun.

Preparation for Mark Schultz’ concerts are a family endeavor. Mark tweeted a picture of his wife wrapping CD packages in preparation for heading out on the road. Who knows, you might see one under your tree this year.

Worship leader Matt Redman and Pastor Louie Giglio were part of a special conference in London over the weekend. Matt tweeted that people from 31 nations were there to hear Louie speak on worship.

Worship leader Chris Tomlin released the tour dates over the weekend for his Love Ran Red tour in early 2015. Chris says the tour with Tenth Avenue North and Rend Collective will kick off on February the 18th in Puerto Rico. It will wrap up a couple of months later, on April 25th, in Texas. Chris added that presale tickets for the concert series will go on sale on November the 10th.

Jimmy Needham this week tweeted a picture of his desk covered with 1000 king sized candy bars. Jimmy added: This is what taking back Halloween for the Kingdom looks like.

Trying to merge life as a reality show host, Christian artist, mother, and more is beginning to catch up with Natalie Grant. She tweeted earlier this week that she had her flash back Friday picture all ready to post when she was reminded that it was only Wednesday. Bad news for Mercyme drummer Robby Shaffer. Earlier in the week we told you he was in the doctors office after rolling his ankle while dancing during the filming of Mercyme’s next music video. Well the results are in and Robby says it’s official. It’s not just a sprain, it’s a fracture. He tweeted a picture of his foot in a boot to keep it immobile along with the caption No More Dancing for Me.

Ellie Holcomb says her daughter has the basic idea of trick or treating down to a science. Ellie says that, after trying to explain trick or treating this week, she asked her daughter: What do you say when we knock at someone’s door? Her daughter answered: Candy

Francesca Battistelli is on the cutting edge of excitement. In one post this week she shared: I labeled my label maker today. Getting CRAZY. The next day Francesca reported on her excitement over the chance to get some knitting done. Francesca then admitted: I’m a grandma and I’m ok with it.

The band Selah will be part of a live interactive webcast sponsored by the group Open Doors this weekend. Third Day this week announced official plans for their next CD. Earlier in the month front man Mac Powell had mentioned in passing that a new album would be available soon. But now it’s official. The new Third Day worship album titled Lead Us Back is scheduled for release on March the 3rd. Members of the band say they have been wanting to do a worship album for quite awhile but were waiting for the right time. This week they reported: Now is that time.

Kerrie Roberts was in the studio this week recording some Christmas songs for a special program. No word yet on when the program will air. But Kerrie says she will let us know as soon as an air date is scheduled.

Big Daddy Weave was celebrating their anniversary this week. The band officially started on October 28, 1998. So happy 16th anniversary to Mike Weaver and all the other members of Big Daddy Weave

 

Rush of Fools member Wes Willis is completely worn out. In fact, he tweeted: It’s very likely that I’ll never wash the bus & trailer by myself again. Sounds like it was a very big job.

The members of the band Unspoken were apologizing this week for the lack of posts on their facebook page. But one fan reminded them that the lack of comments is actually appropriate. He commented: “Well your band name is “UNSPOKEN” SO that is like a get out of jail free card.”

Jamie Grace may have been in a little over her head. She was playing her brother in law’s X-Box and tweeted: I think I broke it. Jamie explained: I Play Barbie Games.

Earlier this month Dr. James Dobson introduced his new Building a Family Legacy series through a worldwide simulcast of the inaugural film in the series. Officials say more than 7,000 churches aired Your Legacy, the first film in the series. They say the simulcast sites spanned 49 states and 21 countries, including Malaysia, China and Afghanistan. The Building a Family Legacy series encompasses eight films and Dr. Dobson calls it “the culmination of my life’s pursuit—helping parents build a family legacy of faith that will endure for generations.”

The new twister game is out and it features music by Britt Nicole. Twister Dance Rave is the latest game release from Hasbro Gaming and it features Britt’s song Glow.

No fancy coffee makers for Jason Gray. He shared on his Instragram page: How to make my favorite cup of coffee. Attached was a picture of an old fashioned coffee pot on the open fame of a gas stove.

Casting Crowns’ Mark Hall is beginning to see a trend. He pointed out recent that, in many of their songs, there are the beginnings of songs to come. One example is a line in the song Who Am I That Says “Who am I? That the voice that calmed the sea would call out through the rain and calm the storm in me.” Mark says that line eventually became their song Praise you In This Storm

The band is also releasing a Christmas EP titled A Christmas Wish List on November 10. Natalie Grant took advantage of a break from filming the reality show It Takes A Church this week to bake cookies. Natalie says she and her daughters used the church kitchen to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch for all of the crew. She says it was a unique experience for the crew since it’s not something tv show hosts usually do for them before. But Natalie says the greater blessing was watching her daughters light up as they delivered a cookie to each person. She says it was a great lesson that doing something so small can still make a big difference in someone’s life.

 

The Sidewalk Prophets are gearing up for a Christmas tour. They announced this week that they will be touring with Citizen Way during the holidays. It’s unofficially being called the Sidewalk Citizen Christmas Tour.

NeedToBreathe was recently helping raise funds for a good cause. The band was part of the 6th Annual Hearts and Hands Gala to raise funds for the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House. The organization is dedicated to serving the needs of children, by providing temporary housing and support services to families of ill and injured children being treated at local hospitals.

Several Christian artists will be helping Steven Curtis Chapman kick off his new show this Sunday Night. Steven will host the first edition of Sam’s Place at The Ryman in Nashville on November 2. Guests for the first edition of the monthly show will include Mercyme, Tenth Avenue North, and Danny Gokey.

The members of Mikeschair will help Project Yesu celebrate Orphan Sunday this weekend with a special concert and luncheon. The annual event is held to raise awareness about orphans worldwide. Officials say they are hoping to reach anyone who has adopted, is adopted or is considering adoption.

Chris Tomlin was busy introducing his new worship CD Love Ran Red this week. He filmed a Billboard Studio Session in New York City and then followed up by tapping an interview with Fox and Friends. The Fox and Friends broadcast will air at 8:50 AM CT Saturday morning.

What is your favorite Memorial in Washington DC? Aaron shust says his is the Jefferson Memorial. He recently took a break while our nations capital to wonder around the National Mall.

Matthew West was on the beach this week. He joined author Karen Kingsbury for her annual beach party in Florida.

Danny Gokey is known as a national leader and advocate to eradicate homelessness and hunger across the country. And right now he is gearing up for the season of giving by participating in events around the country. Danny kicked things off earlier this month by performing at the grand opening of Hope Manor II, a housing development for veterans at risk of homelessness. Upcoming events include Danny hosting the Sophia’s Heart fundraising galas in November to support the homeless in Nashville, Tennessee and youth in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The song Matthew West wrote for the Royals playoff run is now available on iTunes. And Matthew says the best part is that all proceeds will go to a guy he recently met named Tim. Matthew says the 28 year old is a lifelong Royals fan who is battling cancer and needs help with medical expenses. Sanctus Real front man Matt Hammitt was featured on the program Family Life Today last week. Matt Hammitt talked to host Dennis Rainey about the moment his wife told him what she honestly needed from him. A movie that features the acting debut of Third Day’s Mac Powell will soon be available to watch in your home or in your church. Third Day’s Mark Lee has finished a major writing project but isn’t sharing much about what the actual project is. Mark tweeted over the weekend that he had just completed writing more than 70-thousand words with the two words The End. He says now it’s time to start revising. Earlier on facebook Mark had commented that, after years of writing blogs, he was working on a longer project. He promised more details soon but, so far, those details have not been forthcoming. Matthew West was celebrating the Kansas City Royals win in game two of the World Series this week. The day after the game he tweeted a picture of he and his wife in the stadium with the field in the background. Matthew West has made no secret of his support of the Kansas City Royals, even writing a special song for the team after their sweep of the American League Championship.

Natalie Grant wasted no time in heading for home after wrapping up this weeks filming of her latest It Takes a Church episode in Los Angeles. She only took time to exchange her heels for flats before heading to the airport to take a red eye flight back to Nashville. Natalie tweeted: I’m going to be exhausted, but to see my hubby and three littles in the morning is worth it.

Before there was Citizenway, there was Stained Glass. Citizenway members Ben and Josh Calhoun were part of the band Stained Glass along with their sister Sarah back in 2001. It wasn’t until 2004 that they joined Ben and David, the Blascoe brothers, at Judson University to form Citizenway.

Even Christian artists don’t escape those normal adventures of parenthood. Elizabeth Seay, wife of worship leader Robbie Seay, tweeted this week that one of their kids decided to shave off most of their eyebrows this week. She added that it was the night before picture day at school.

A bit of trivia about the tree on the front of the latest Casting Crowns CD titled Thrive. Band members tweeted this week that it is an actual tree, known as the Angel Oak tree. The tree is estimated to be up to 1400 years old and is located near Charleston, South Carolina.

Earlier this week we told you that Hawk Nelson front man Jon Steingard was selling the 1991 Gibson Les Paul that served as his main guitar during the last few years he played guitar in the band. Well Jon now says the guitar has been sold and it sounds like it’s going to a good home. The new owner is Jamie Grace and she tweeted that both she and the guitar were born in 1991.

Reaction to Mac Powell’s foray into Country music is receiving a mixed response from Third Day fans. While many have encouraged the front man of Third Day, others have struggled with his decision to test the secular music waters. Mac recently shared a post sent to him by one Third Day fan. It said: “it breaks my heart that you gave up on God by play worldly music. I pray for you”. Mac replied: well…thanks.

Shane and Shane were in the studio this week working on a Christmas CD. The Shane’s have already put out nine CDs in 2014 as part of their Worship Initiative series. And they aren’t done yet. Shane and Shane say work is underway on the Christmas project but the release date still has not been announced.

Lincoln Brewster is well known for his song writing abilities. And the worship leader tweeted this week that he has three song writing necessities. They include an iphone, an acoustic guitar, and friends to collaborate with.

Josh Wilson and the Newsboys are among the first Christian bands to move over to a brand new social media platform. The TSU social media platform is similar to facebook. But it has one major difference. On TSU only 10 percent of the money generated goes to the company. The rest goes either to the creator of the page or the person who brought him to the network, making it the first social media platform that pays it’s users. Natalie Grant says the filming for the latest edition of the reality show It Takes a Church ended early. Steven Curtis Chapman says he really likes Taco Bell. But Steven added that he especially likes their taste in music. That’s because they were playing music from the Colony House Band, which includes both of his sons.

Sanctus Real guitarist Chris Rohman was talking about dreaming this week. The new Sactus Real CD is titled The Dream and Chris said he is living his dream. Mac Powell was assuring fans of his commitment to Third Day this week. The front man for the band has been on tour promoting his solo country project for several weeks, prompting one fan to ask if he was still with Third Day. A Skillet fan pointed out that the band is very popular in Russia. In fact, they are so popular that they even show up in Russian tabloid magazines. Attached was a picture of Skillet front man John Cooper on the cover of one of the Russian language tabloids from that country.

Orphan Sunday is November 2. And Christian artist John Waller is hoping to provide 100 scholarships for 100 orphans by that date. The scholarships will be for kids in Haiti and the collection effort will begin next Wednesday.

Happy birthday to Mike Grayson from the band Mikeschair. He turned 30 this week.

The band New World Son this week announced plans for a brand new CD. The project titled All The Way Live will be available world wide on November 12. It’s the bands first live album, or actually double-album. Members of New World Son say a live project has been requested by their fans for years and it is finally a reality.

Natalie Grant says social media can be a tricky thing to navigate. Natalie says she’s chosen to handle social media herself rather than using a team of professionals. But she adds that being real and authentic can sometimes be painful. One seemingly innocent post recently proved her point. Natalie says she posted about the battery operated diffuser that she used on the airplane. And she says she’s still baffled by the intense arguments it created on her page. Natalie finally went back on line and posted a seven paragraph report on what she discovered while also apologizing for any hurt she may have caused.

Last week Matthew West recorded a song cheering on the Kansas City Royals in their quest for a World Championship. The song was recorded using the music from the song Royal by the artist Lorde. In response, according to People Magazine, two radio stations in San Francisco, the home of the Kansas City Royals opponent, have now banned the song Royal until after the series is complete.

Last year Brandon Heath released a Christmas CD. But he made a point to encourage his followers to wait until after Thanksgiving to actually play the Christmas album. Now Brandon is taking Home Depot to task. He recently tweeted: Excuse me, Home Depot?! It’s not even Halloween yet. Here we go again. Attached was a picture of the Christmas decorations already out at a Home Depot Store in his community.

Jamie Grace was a little overwhelmed over the weekend. She tweeted that model Tyra Banks had just favorited one of her tweets. Jamie said she was experiencing so many emotions.

Building 429’s Jesse Garcia was back home over the weekend. After nearly four years away Jesse spent a little downtime visiting the grave of his mother, who passed away back in 2010. On her tomb was this tribute: She left a legacy of love, wisdom and faith.
